We were headed home from town.
Sometimes the heat can be overwhelming, and the hot breeze was not making mama happy.
Instead of turning up the hill, to our house, I asked Prince to stop by the beach, for a while.
We needed some time to cool off and just relax.
Most times there is no one out on the dock. Today, a young man sat fishing on the end.
Princess Alexis- always looking for a new friend- walked ahead of us, kicked off her shoes, and sat down beside him. She didn't say anything. She just sat very still watching.
He was very kind and friendly to us. He would take a live crab (out of an empty coke bottle), pinch off a bite, put it on his hook and throw it into the water. Slowly the man would draw his string through the water leading a group of colorful fish right to our feet. He repeated it over and over....waiting for the perfect timing to tug and catch his supper. While we watched he caught a red snapper and a parrot fish.
He took some crabs out of his plastic pop bottle. Carefully he twisted off the mean little pinchers and handed a crab to each of the girls to play with. They giggled and squirmed as the crabs crawled across their hands and laps. Princess Alexis says, "It tickles."
God is good, all the time.
All the time, God is good.
p.s. Don't forget my current give-away!
