"Better than Average" Cake Pops Recipe from Iowa

You've seen her before...you'll see her again!

It's my sis, Rachel...from snowy Iowa!
Actually...these are her kids.  But, they are {way} cuter than her.  You can tell her I said that.  I'm safe from being slugged 'cause there's an ocean between us! {only half joking}
Family traditions are very important to my sister and her husband.
They both enjoy sentiment items, for example these ornaments that belonged to our Papa Roy.
Now on to the food!
Don't they just look yummy?
Cake Pops Instructions
"I took and baked a chocolate cake mix "as it says on the box".
Cool completely.... you have to wait 'cause it's hot.
Not just warm..hot "like it just came out of an oven" hot.
Then with CLEAN hands take and crumble it into a large bowl.
It should crumble into tiny pieces. Then stir in around 3/4 of a container of frosting.
You can be creative with this and use cream cheese frosting, coconut cream frosting, etc...etc.
I used different kinds of frostings and put different things into the cake pops.
My {bright idea} was crumble up Reese's peanut butter cups
 and stir them in!
Reserving a little bit to garnish with.
I also tried York Peppermint Patties....{yumm-o}.
Just use your favorite candy bar.
Roll into lolly-pop size. Then put them in the freezer for around an hour or more.

Sit back, prop your feet up and twiddle your thumbs for a few hours to let them get really cold and hard.
They stay together the best when really cold.
Then take a stick and push it into a cake ball. Dip into melted chocolate until coated.
Tap, tap, tap off extra and stand up to dry. A pizza box with holes does the job well.
 Then enjoy!"

*I also tried this with a brownie mix...worked great. This was actually the favorite of us sisters.
Have a lovely day,
