T' Time {#64}

Today's Take the Time to Challenge is....
    let them wear their GOOD clothes.
 (yes, that's paint.  yes, it's very washable!)
Eden is my dressy girl.  All of my daughters love looking pretty and getting ready for Sunday church but Eden LOVES it.  At the ripe old age of 4, laying out her outfit for Sunday is the highlight of her week.  She loves to accessorize.  I've recently discovered that she gets so much pleasure from looking pretty in her Sunday best on Tuesday when she's laying on the concrete playing with her Little Pet Shops, on Wednesday when she's eating a drippy popsicle on the back step, on Friday when she pushing her doll stroller around the yard.
Being #3 she has a lot of hand-me-downs.  More Sunday dresses then she'd ever be able to wear before she grows to tall for them.  Which is more practical?  Keeping them all starched and fresh in the closet waiting to be worn once then bagged away for the next girl?  Or letting her get joy and pleasure out of feeling fancy and frilly everyday?

What's a little extra scrubbing and stain stick compared to bringing someone joy?

what a doll! i love that you do this... every little girl deserves to feel pretty. at my old center, there was a little girl who would dress up like this daily too.

I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating....every child in the world should have a mom like you. Your girls are so beautiful...just like their mom. God bless you all.

You'll never regret this, Maria. I used to let my daughter and her friends use my good china when I had tea parties for them. The girls felt so special. Since then much of my china got broken when a shelf in my old china cabinet broke. It made me doubly thankful that I had used my china to spread joy while I could. :)

Too cute! I had to laugh about it though, because it goes to show you how different boys and girls are... my boys hate wearing "nice" clothes and would wear their "play" clothes to church if I let them! :)
